Teaching classes is a great way to dig deeper into a subject.
To successfully pass knowledge on to other people in a classroom or other educational setting, you must know your subject first. So you study, research and absorb all the information you can find, and then pass it on to your students.
It’s been said that you learn more by teaching then most other ways of learning.
From personal experience, I must agree because everytime I sit down to write one of these task descriptions I must think about what I know and can pass on to you. Then I do some research for more information to expand on what I know. Each time adding to my knowledge.
You can be doing the same. Start passing knowledge to people closes to you. You friends, family, employees, clients and prospects.
Next, pass you knowledge on to small groups of people. You can speak at Optmist meetings, Rotary club meeting, Chamber of Commerce Meeting and the many networking meeting in your area. All these groups are loaded with very friendly folks and would love to learn from you.
OK, I can hear you saying, I'd rather be poked in the eye with a sharp stick then get up in front of a group of strangers. Get to your local Toastmaster group, for a few bucks you'll build your confidence, hone your speaking skills and get over your fear of speaking.
What teaching opportunities can you add to your marketing and advertising plans?
