Blogroll

A blogroll is a list of blogs, usually placed in the sidebar of a blog, that reads as a list of recommendations by the blogger of other blogs.

These blogroll lists may also include many kinds of recommended media, including newspapers, journals, books or companies. Sometimes friends, family or other comlimentary businesses.

With the advent of syndicated newsfeeds, even blogrolls can, and are, being syndicated. OPML is one of the popular ways to syndicate a blogroll in case a weblog author wants others to be able to access the weblogs in his/her blogroll.

Blogroll Code of Conduct

There is no rule on the blogosphere that if  a blogger put a link to his / her blogroll, you should link them back. Of course, each blogger approaches this with their own blogging goals in mind. Sometimes you maybe dislike someone who linked to your blog.

There are many reasons why you may decide not to reciprocate a blogroll link, but it’s good blogging etiquette to at least review each blog that links to you through its blogroll to determine if you’d like to add that blog to your own blogroll or not.

Adding a Blogroll to your internet marketing plan can help your get more links and traffic to your websites and blogs.

Budget: $25 a month to add and tweak your blog blogroll
